Helps in increasing humidity:

  • Interior humidity is really important to keep our body healthy. Less humidity can lead to many problems like, prematuring of hair, skin related problems etc.

  • Harmful viruses and bacteria also reside in low moisture which can help in getting various allergic problems.

  • Irrespective of any season (except the rainy season), our interior moisture should present in the correct amount.

  • In winters, almost 90% of people suffer from allergies, skin and hair related problems, and in summers, due to pollution and being in air conditioner our body lacks moisture.

  • So, Jade plant helps in retaining the moisture of our environment and helps our body to absorb moisture and feel nourished.

Used as medicine:
  • In many parts of our globe, people still use Jade leaves to cure many diseases and to boosting immunity power. Jade leaves are used in tea for the treatment of early diabetes.

  • Gel from leaves is used for curing skin warts. However, if you are under any medication, then consult with your doctor before having the jade leaves. Jade is also considered as toxic for pets, especially for cats and dogs.

Easy to grow and propagate: We are aware that succulents grow well and efficiently in extreme climatic conditions and demand less care. Likewise, Jade too demands less care and is super easy to propagate. Below are some steps through which we can make a comfortable environment for jade to grow.

  • Preparation of soil: Jade needs less water retention soil. While preparing the soil we should take 1/3rd garden soil, 1/3rd any compost and 1/3rd sand. This soil mixture will help to drain the excessive water and plants can get all important nutrition and water in the correct proportion.

  • Watering: We always need to remember that, jade doesn't demand much water. So, for watering, first we need to check if the soil still contains water in it, by touching the soil and if the soil is sticking to our hand, then delay watering for a couple of days. Over watering will result in dying out the roots which can cause dying of Jade soon.

  • Sunlight:

    • Every succulent needs an adequate amount of sunlight, which will help these plants to grow. In a similar manner, Jade also needs morning sunlight, for 3-4 hours to grow efficiently.

    • We can place this plant indoors in such a place where it can get at least 3-4 hours of sunlight daily.

    • If we keep this plant in complete sunlight then moisture in its leaves will start drying up and within some days it’s leaves will shrink.

    • Again, if we will keep jade indoors and do not provide sunlight, then it will result in falling off all its leaves.

    • Hence, for not only Jade, but for every plant sunlight is required to grow healthy.

  • Fertilizer:

    • For fertilizing Jade, the best time in the year is February and August. They will give better results, because after one month (in the month of March and September) the growth of Jade increases.

    • If possible, feed Jade with liquid manure. If it isn’t possible for you to give liquid manure, nothing to worry about it, Jade is a really satisfactory plant. It doesn’t demand much care. It will still grow happily by just giving fertilizer twice a year and watering it properly.

  • Pruning:

    • It's really important to keep our plants healthy, which will help them in better growth.

    • Regular trimming of Jade stems will result in a healthy plant and look bushy. By this method, you can convert your Jade plant into a Miniature tree or Bonsai

    • At the same time, it’s important to know where we should trim the stem.

    • Depending on the idea how you would like your Jade to develop, a bonsai or any kind of topiary. You should cut the stem exactly at that point where you want your plant to look dense, because from that cut point, one stem will divide into two.

    • Along with this, mold the plant with the help of a copper wire, without harming the plant to give the desired shape.

  • Propagation:

    • Propagating Jade is very easy. Take small cuttings that you have got while pruning and plant those in the above mentioned soil proportion followed by watering the plant.

Add an Ornamental view: It is a really beautiful plant and it looks attractive due to its leaves and flexibility. We can have Jade in a hanging vase and its stem will grow downward which will add up to the room's beauty. If we want to shape it as a tree or topiary then it can mold it easily. It blossoms in every spring and winter every year with pink flowers.

A great air purifier:

  • In studies, scientists have confirmed that many of us suffer from headache, dizziness, stress and anxiety because of our impure indoor air.

  • We all use some or other electrical devices like refrigerators, air conditioner, WiFi router, mobile phones etc, which emit harmful radiations which in return are very dangerous for our health. Keeping Jade in our house will help in absorbing these radiations.

  • Along with this Jade also reduces the level of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) like benzene, ethylene, formaldehyde, Carbon Monoxide, and Xylene etc which also pollute air are harmful for breathing and our body.

Luck Plant:

  • This plant is considered lucky in Feng Shui. It is believed that keeping Jade brings prosperity and positive energies in our house and any business firm. However, we should know the proper way to get good results.

  • We can place them in the South-Eastern direction or at the entrance of our house or office. It will attract success to the business and prosperity in the house.

  • We should avoid keeping Jade in our bedroom and in the restrooms. Rather we can place them in the South-Eastern direction of our dining room or living room.
