Succulent Plant

Succulents are a super satisfactory plant for beginners. These plants are commonly found and efficiently grown in desert and arid regions, which is why they need less care and watering. However, over watering can lead to damage to the roots and hence, the plant will die. These plants can grow in extreme climates, so they are fleshy and juicy, which helps them in the process of transpiration. There are almost 25 plant families that are Succulents. A wide variety of succulent plants grow in every adverse climate, like in desert areas and extremely cold areas. 


There are two main types of Succulents: Cold Hardy and Soft Succulents. Cold Hardy succulents can survive beyond freezing temperature and can efficiently grow in alpine climates. On the other hand, Soft Succulents can just survive till the freezing point of water and will perform better in desert and arid areas. 


There are numerous advantages of keeping succulents in your garden or growing them as an indoor plant to have a royal look for your interior.


Lowering blood pressure: Succulents release a lot of water and oxygen, which makes the indoor environment cool and relaxing. Succulents plants, mostly like stonecrop, help in lowering down the blood pressure and help in pain tolerance.


Increase Concentration: Succulents are of really very wide range of variety. Each plant is unique on its own. Their leaves, stem, flowers are moulded in a very attractive way.
If we place a Succulent plant on the student’s table, then it will help in attaining the concentration. Along with this, as these plants release water and oxygen into the fresh air, which will again help children to think clearly and creatively. If we place this in our workplace, then it will help us to keep the focus on work and get our target efficiently.


Ornamental Look: Succulents have wide range to colors, length, variety, shape and sizes. They really look attractive if we plant them in a variety of pots and place them in our garden area, dining area, bedrooms or as a wall hanging. They can be decorated in a very little effort.


Easy to Propagate: To propagate Succulents, we just need to cut the stem or leaves and plant them in another pot with one third of garden soil, one part of vermicompost and one past sand. As these plants need less water, we can water them once or twice a week.

Rich in Nutrients: Succulent plants are highly rich in fiber and have a lot of water content in it. We can consume less amount of succulent’s leaves. This will decrease our appetite and will not be deprived from the necessary nutrients which are required by the body. If we have grown these plants well,  then they can blossom flowers too. We can also consume these flowers as they are rich in calcium, protein, iron, and vitamins like b1, b2, b6 and b12. This also helps in reducing inflammation in the body. Cactus again helps to some extent reduces the chances of getting Cancer.


Cure Skin Problems: Aloe vera, is one the succulent, has numerous advantages.
