Benefits of Boston fern
The great air purifier:
The indoor air quality plays an important role in keeping us healthy. Bad indoor air quality may occur due to VOCs (Volatile Organic compounds) such as benzene, ethylene, formaldehyde, Carbon Monoxide, Toluene and Xylene etc which pollute the air & are harmful for our body.
These are commonly found in nail paints, inks, glues, smoking products, cosmetics, perfumes, air fresheners, and harmful air pollutants, primarily released from industrial sources.
Presence of these harmful substances in our surroundings can cause headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dilated pupils, anxiety, and irritation of the upper respiratory tract.
According to various studies, along with Indian Money Plant, Jade, Echeveria, English Ivy and Peace lily, Boston Fern is also one of the great absorbers of these harmful organic compounds from the environment in a good amount and offer fresh air to breathe.

Soil:
Boston fern demands a well drainage soil. Along with this, it likes moist soil.
For providing the mentioned soil condition, we need to take 1/3rd part of river sand, 1/3rd part of garden soil and 1/3rd part of cocopeat.
Along with this cocopeat will help in retaining the moisture in the soil for a desired period of time and sand will help in drain out the extra water from the soil, so as to avoid the rotting of roots.
Light:
Boston fern requires bright indirect sunlight. For this we can either provide early morning direct sunlight and evening sunlight, for an or so. Keeping this fern in direct bright sunlight may result in burn out it’s leaves.
If we have kept this in our interior then, make sure it should get indirect sunlight for a couple of hours in a day. This will help in keeping boston fern healthy with green foliage.
Watering:
As outlined above, it's important to maintain the soil moisture. However, over watering will lead to the plant's bad health. We should always water the fern, only when the topsoil is getting dry.
Any kind of fern grows healthy in moist environments. If we stay in hot and dry places, then we should regularly mist the plant daily. To avoid the drying out air, we shouldn’t keep them near any kind of radiators or hot air vents. This will help in keeping the plant healthy.
Fertilizer:
We should feed Boston Fern with light fertilizers or liquid fertilizers once in a year. Overfeeding of fertilizer can lead to the damage roots, browning and drying of foliage which may lead to loss of leaves.
