Jasmine is grown in various parts of the world and is a truly famous plant. Its characteristics of being adaptive, hardy nature and its fragrance makes it everyone’s choice. It comes under, olive family (Oleaceae), which contributes almost 200 species of Jasminum Genus. It’s origin is basically from South Asia and the Himalayas.

Its flowers are considered highly sacred in India and in some countries of Asia, as Jasmine name

means the "Gift from God". In many parts of India, women carry the garlands of Jasmine and use

it to scent their hair and hence call it “Moonlight of the grove”. Jasmine is also the national flower

of the Philippines and many countries kept the name of this flower such as Duce di Toscane,

Maid of Orleans & Belle of India. 

The intoxicating scent of this flower is most enriching after noon and is believed to be even

stronger during a full moon. The fragrance of Jasmine flowers not only purifies our soul and gives

us strength (only by keeping it near us) but it has many other qualities, which can help us keep

Side effects of Jasmine tea: what happened?

  • In addition to consuming Jasmine in any form, we should know that it also contains caffeine which can cause problems in some people. 

  • Extra consumption of Jasmine tea can cause restlessness, anxiety and stomach aches. 

  • Pregnant ladies should strictly avoid it’s intake as it may increase miscarriage risk. 

  • Jasmine tea contains catechins & upon extra consumption of Jasmine tea can lead to lower down the body’s ability to absorb iron proceeding iron deficiency or Anemia. Pregnant women, young children, people with iron deficiency or any kind anemia should not consume Jasmine tea. 

  • For normal people, it’s recommended to drink Jasmine tea; with Green coffee or Green tea as base; early in the morning with an empty stomach and have breakfast after an hour or two of drinking the tea.
